FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Do I need prior experience?

No experience is needed. We are all learning new things together and helping each other along the way.

What do I wear?

Anything that makes you happy! Some best practices are: clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Typically close-toed shoes, but not a safety concern. Pants are best for wheel. No scarfs or long necklaces at the wheel. Bring a hair tie if you need one (we have some here too). Manicures work in hand-building classes, but will be difficult to use on the wheel.

What do I need to bring with me?

Anything that makes you feel at home (within reason). We will provide everything you need for all your projects including tools, equipment and materials. Food and drink are ok, Headphones are ok, alcohol etc are ok if used respectfully and responsibly.

What if I can’t make a day in one of the series classes? Do you offer make up classes?

Make-up classes are included in all sessions. We know it’s real life. We will work with you to make sure you get time to finish your projects.

What does it mean to become a member?

Being a member is a big next step in your artistic journey. Membership is a small community of emerging artists who work independently developing bodies of work. They often take on the role of mentor, or inspiration for the rest of the studio.

Can I use the studio when class isn’t in session?

Yes! There are open studio hours for all students to work on class projects, or to experiment with new ideas.

Can I bring a friend to one of the classes with me?

Yes, however they would not be able to use the studio materials or equipment.

Can I bring food and drink with me?

Yes! Just be mindful of other users and do not eat or drink in the glaze area. Alcohol is ok if used respecfully.

Where do I park?

There is parking along Gunter St and at the main Canopy parking lot.

Do you have any artwork or other products for sale?

We don’t have a rotating shop, but we will offer occasional market days. Sign up for the newsletter below for advance notice.

What can I expect when I show up to my first class?

Class will start with an introduction, an ice breaker meet-and-greet, and then move to a demonstration by your instructor. After the demo students will work on their projects independently with your instructor available for one-on-one guidance.
